Press Shop Supervisor - Job Description


Required Qualifications/ Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Desired Work Experience

  • Experience with Transfer Presses and Progressive/Hand Transfer Presses
  • Experience with Atlas and HMS Transfer Automation
  • Experience with set-up and die change;
  • Supervisor experience.

  • Computer proficiency;

  • Good communicator ability to listen to others and clearly present information and requests;
  • Service Oriented anticipates and works to meet the needs of internal and external customers;

Critical Success Factors:

  • The employee must maintain an excellent attendance record, which is defined as being at work all the time and on time.

  • Job Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Performs activities and duties of the Production Associate position;
  • Leading, directing, training, assigning and monitoring the activities of the shift;
  • Ensures effective utilization of resources and people;
  • Provides feedback to production manager about production opportunities, problems or issues;
  • Communicates with production team, employees and other departments to ensure work is completed according to schedule;
  • Provides training to employees;
  • Audits processes, procedures and documentation;
  • Monitors the quality of products using measuring tools, gauges and fixtures;
  • Participates in investigation, containment, disposition and documentation of non-conforming product;
  • Maintains records and documentation

Effort/ Physical Demands/ Working Conditions:

  • Constant communication with employees, peers, and management.
  • Frequent distractions and interruptions
  • Multiple demands in a challenging and fast paced- team orientated environment
  • Noisy environment
  • Overtime as required.
  • Office, Plant floor
  • Travel as required

Health and Safety Responsibilities

  • Compliance with Occupational safety sections of Act.
  • Must report all accidents and near misses to your Supervisor
  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company Rules, Plant Rules, policies and procedures.
  • Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or certain clothing as required by the company.
  • Must wear all designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Back-up Duties:

  • Perform other duties as required
