Preventative Maintenance Coordinator - Job Description


Job Summary: Responsible for preparing documentation and releases/ coordination for maintenance activities, as well as reviewing, adjusting and filing all maintenance records
Knowledge and Skills (Education):
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Mechanical/ Electrical Certification of qualification or equivalent experience
• 3 – 4 years experience in similar role
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and identify spare parts needed for equipment.
• Ability to understand machine functions, hydraulic systems, electronic controls, sensors and pneumatics,
• Ability to perform Preventative Maintenance on tooling fixtures/ equipment to ensure a quality product
• Strong Coordination and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and problem solve issues from a variety of known options

Major Accountabilities:
• Maintain and develop CMS
• Generates and updates Preventative and Predictive maintenance work instructions for all equipment, and enters into system.
• Generates work orders for cleaning and housekeeping activities that compliment PM schedule.
• Ensures all necessary lubricants and coolants are in stock for equipment. Ensures that all spare parts inventory and materials are available for planned PM activities
• Prepares work orders and ensures audits are being performed. Ensures work orders are completed in a timely manner
• Enters completed preventative maintenance work instructions into system. Updates any changes or modifications to work instructions
• Prepares PM work instructions for new equipment
• Advises Maintenance Manager/ Supervisor of PM reports involving; equipment problems, and requested parts needed for equipment repair work
• Ensures that rebuild/ repair to spare parts are completed in a timely manner and re-entered into stock
• Investigates damaged or defective parts to determine if covered under warranty and follows up on such parts accordingly
• Maintains schematics and drawing library
• Abide by all company polices including, but not limited to the following; Health and safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human resources policies, and Martinrea Employee Handbook
• Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards and legislation including Environmental Legislation, O. Reg 851 for Industrial Establishments, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (with emphasis on Section 28, (1) (a)-(d), (2) (a)-(c)).
Working Conditions:
• 50% Plant environment (PPE required), 50% Office
• Frequent requirement of handling heavy equipment (operation)
Decision Making and Authority:
• On a functional level the following position(s) will oversee this role
o Toolroom Manager
• Authority of decisions:
o Scheduling of PMs
o Identify critical situations and communicate up
• Recommendations:
o Improvements to safety, productivity and quality
• Quantitative Measurements:
o PM coordination of all equipment, approximately 32 presses, 60 weld cells/ stations, 3 Spinners and 6 Trim and Crown
Back-up Duties:
• Perform other duties as required
