Job Summary: Review monthly financial information, summarizing risks and opportunities and assessing the overall reasonableness of results

Required Education and Experience:

  • College diploma or University Accounting degree (CA, CMA or CPA designation preferred)
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position
  • Experience should be in manufacturing. Preference is automotive environment
  • An independent critical thinker who displays attention to detail and deadlines
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and time management skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Experience in working in an ERP (IBM AS400) environment (CMS or Solarsoft experience is preferred)
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel; Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge if ISO 14401:2015; IATF 16949 and any applicable customer requirements

Essential Functions:

  • Process Capital Assets and expenditure request ensuring corporate policies are adhered to.
  • Process all capital assets disposals and MRE Divisional transfers.
  • Fixed Asset and CIP Management including GL reconciliation, asset documentation and monthly Vena schedules.
  • Assist physical inventory count process (quarterly on production), asset tagging and variance analysis.
  • Tooling project tracking, reconciliation and reporting. Along with holding engineering meetings as needed.
  • Track and Publish KPIs to local and corporate management (daily/weekly).
  • Assist controller in cost accounting activities (including standards update).
  • Assist controller with internal and external audit (including YE audit kit).
  • Assist controller in preparing financial forecast weekly, including updating and maintaining weekly forecast/bridges.
  • Assist controller in preparation of annual business plan (sales, material cost, labor, other variable overhead cost, etc.)
  • Prepare month end standard and non-standard journal entries.
  • Close inventory module and prepare analysis at the end of each month.
  • Prepare assigned balance sheet reconciliations and schedules.
  • Work and assist on special projects.
  • Assist controller to ensure division compiles with Corporate reporting requirements on weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • ensuring compliance with Martinrea accounting policies and procedures.
  • Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human
  • Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook

  • Constant communication with employees, peers, and management.
  • Frequent distractions and interruptions
  • Multiple demands in a challenging and fast paced- team orientated environment

  • Overtime as required.
  • Office, Plant floor
  • Travel as required

Health and Safety:

  • Compliance with Occupational safety sections of Act.
  • Must report all accidents and near misses to your Supervisor
  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company Rules, Plant Rules, policies and procedures.
  • Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or certain clothing as required by the company.
  • Must wear all designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
