EHS Coordinator - Job Description
Job Summary: - The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator provides support to the EHS Department by assisting the EHS Manager with day to day environmental and safety-related tasks including documentation, filing and longer-term projects.
Required Education and Experience: - 2-3 years of EHS experience or a degree (Associate/Bachelor) from an accredited University
- Any specialized training certificates in the various areas of safety desirable but not mandatory
- Bilingual (Spanish) highly desirable both verbal and written preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to work/manage on multiple projects within work schedules

- Computer proficiency, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Essential Functions: - Assist as needed with day to day environmental safety and health related tasks and long-term projects
- Assist with monitoring and recordkeeping requirements for all environmental media and documentation
- Conduct safety assessments and include suggestions to minimize hazards
- Coordinate and maintain all licenses and permits conducive to EHS
- Assist in all elements of incident management
- Update safety boards and measurable reports
- Coordinate all safety milestone celebrations
- Assist in accident/injury investigations and corrective actions
- Assist with safety training
- Responsible for maintaining PPE inventory and disbursement
- Maintain SDS library and chemical inventory
- Assist with all aspects of waste management
- Assist with storm water management
- Create safety bulletins
- Other duties as assigned
Working Conditions - 50% office, 50% plant floor (PPE required)
Effort/Physical Demands - This position is full-time, 40 hours per week. Overtime is not available at this time
Health and Safety Responsibilities - Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company Rules, Plant Rules, policies and procedures
- Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or certain clothing as required by the company
