Material Handler - Job Description
Required Education and Experience: - High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to two years of related experience/training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Forklift Operator License
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Technical ability to operate scan guns
- Must have a good knowledge of the English language
- Knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements
- Knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF 16949
Essential Functions: - Provides support to operators through efficient, on-time delivery of WIP, containers, and other materials to the work cells
- Monitor scrap dumpsters and dump scrap in designated hoppers
- Remove finished goods containers and transport to correct storage area, and scan accordingly
- Perform maintenance and safety checks on forklifts and other material handling equipment for which the associate is responsible
- Remove WIP containers and move to correct designated location and scan accordingly
- Follow all plant requirements for transport and stacking of containers
- Monitor condition of containers and move damaged containers to container repair area
- Maintain storage container organization in accordance with the plant layout
- Any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the Weld Assembly Supervisor
- Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
