HVAC Tech - Job Description
Job Summary: Perform building facility maintenance duties to ensure a reliable supply of chill water, compressed air and HVAC supply. Required Education and Experience: - High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Two years of related experience/training or equivalent combination of education and experience for HVAC.
- Must have obtained all certifications for handling refrigerant within OSHA and EPA standards.
- Excellent communication, analytic, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Must have a strong work ethic and be able to work in a team and independently with little to no supervision.
- Must have a good knowledge of the English language
- Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operator and aerial work platform licenses.
- Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge / experience / background.
- Knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements
- Knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF 16949
Essential Functions: - Always operate equipment safely.
- Monitor and maintain air compressors, chillers and plant HVAC equipment.
- Monitor and maintain air leaks throughout the facility using available technology.
- Perform all PMs related to facilities equipment and log work orders utilizing the plant CMMS EMAINT.
- Maintain plumbing and fixturing in plant restrooms and breakrooms.
- Clean facilities equipment to facilitate inspections and repairs
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of facilities supplies
- Perform special projects and assignments at the request of the Facilities Manager, Facilities Engineer or Maintenance Manager.
- Any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the Facilities Manager, Facilities Engineer or Maintenance Manager.
- Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
Language Skills: - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, schematics, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Work Environment: - 100% Plant Floor (PPE Required), may be exposed to seasonal weather conditions while performing the duties of this job
