Auto Cell Technician - Job Description

Job Summary:

• To operate all equipment per Work Instructions safely and responsibly. Assist in the technical development, production, and advancement of the Auto Cells.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Ability to correctly record, and represent manufacturing data
• 3 years lead experience for an automotive manufacturer preferred
• Ability to comply with existing processes and/or quickly adapt to new processes within the organization

• Must be able to successfully lead and function within a team environment and be able to identify and promote changes for improvement activities through team leading and organization
• Collaborate and communicate effectively across different organizational levels to realize goals and objectives

Responsibilities:

• Manufactures parts or product by operating production machines and equipment, using hand tools and fixtures, and assembling components as required
• Tests and visually inspects completed or in-process work, notifies supervisor or other personnel of manufacturing of quality problems, and documents quality conformance and production volumes during shift or run
• Prepares finished parts or product for routing to next processing stage
• Responsible for SPC on the line, and quality of parts produced
• Leading/assisting in Auto Cell changeovers
• Make simple adjustments/corrections to machinery (slight adjustments, homing equipment, small robot moves, tooling changeouts)
• Ensure Auto Cell safety protocol is upheld
• Maintains plant 5S practices

Working Conditions

• Plant Floor (PPE required)
• Involves handling or working near industrial chemicals or vapors such as solvents, cleaning agents and flammable liquids
• Involves operating or working near moving mechanical equipment
• May encounter moderate to loud noise levels created by power tools, production machinery and heavy traffic

Effort/Physical Demands

• Constant communication with employees, peers, and management
• Overtime as required
• Standing, walking
• Repetitive motion
• Bending, pushing, pulling

Health and Safety Responsibilities

• Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company Rules, Plant Rules, policies and procedures
• Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or certain clothing as required by the company
